Chapter 2
Thomas and Rachel went
back with their family’s and didn't do much else but worry for
their friend.
Rachel and Thomas had
decided to take the bus to school.
They sat next to
each other and didn't speak to anyone the whole way including each
other.
When they arrived they
were flocked by every kid in the school who had ever even saw Jayson
in any way. Thomas saw how uncomfortable Rachel was on the subject.
He told everyone that they had nothing more to say and pushed
through everyone and finally made it to their classes.
All during their lunch break they searched every medical website for
some answer to what was going on with Jayson.
They found absolutely
nothing at all as to what was wrong with their friend. They planned
on visiting Jayson after school had ended.
School seemed
to drag on with no more concern from the other students and very
little from the teachers.
I hope he's doing
better today. Said Rachel. I mean I’m not expecting a fast acting
miracle or anything but that would be nice. All I want is for him to
be okay.
Me too. Replied Thomas. Maybe he will be better
today.
I think that they would have called us. He
replied. His parents know how much he is to us.
So either he is better or
he is the same or he is even worse and they want to tell us in
person. She said. When school had finally ended they raced to the
hospital.
There were even more people this time and it
seemed like everyone in the waiting room was there for Jayson.
Everyone had gotten ten extra minuets as long as you went
in in groups of two or more.
The main reason for this
is that the doctors didn't think he could make it any longer then a
week or so. When Thomas and Rachel finally made in for their visit
they discovered that Jayson had been hooked up with machines early.
His fever had been rising and going back down again to one hundred
fifteen and it looked like even more of his color had drained from
him.
He looks even worse
then before. Whispered Rachel.
I know. Replied
Thomas. It's awful what he's having to go through.
What if he really can
hear us? She replied. I don't think he'd be calm having to listen to
everyone saying of awful he looks and them talking about how long he
really has. So today let's try and keep it light. Maybe we can read
him his book he got on his birth day.
Thomas wiped a tear
away from under his glasses.
Okay. He
replied.
I guess so,
Rachel went through
Jayson's black back pack and pulled out the hero.
Rachel and Thomas sat in
the chairs that were on either side of Jayson.
Rachel pulled back her
semi-long auburn hair out of her face and began to read the book.
Once “a long time ago”
an evil sorcerer named Guylest created an evil army of dark wizards,
who had the power to conjure spells and enchantresses could conjure
only some spells their main ability to manipulate people other
objects and anything else they want.
And another were breakers
[when good they are referred to as healers], can heal and poison
other people as well as having a good memory with potions and other
things.
Guylest called his soldiers darklings.
He used his evil followers to invade the hidden
realm of Tanlon.
He burned homes and destroyed the kingdom to
almost nothing.
Guylest was winning his
fights aginst the Tanlon soldiers and thought nothing could stop him.
It wasn't until the
mako,Tukon, showed up that things changed.
[A mako is the strongest
and powerful wizard ever, they only appear every now and then, they
had powers that no other magical being had].
With him were his companions the enchantress, Linwonk,
and the healer, Ponton,.
Linwonk and Ponton had the
most power any of the others but Tukon.
They fought with Guylest
for hours.
Poton and
Linwonk dealt with the darklings while Tukon fought with Guylest.
The army of darklings was
almost vanished all that was left was Guylest.
Tukon was knocked down and
got hurt seriously and didn't know how long he could last.
He took the final blow on
his feet but before he fell he cast one last curse that bannished
Guylest and the rest of his army to the dark forest for one thousand
years. He also placed a spell on the kingdom of Tanlon that would put
them in a reserved sleep as long as Guylest wasn't around. He wanted
for them to see their victory.
After Guylest was pulled into the
forest, he fell before Linwonk and Ponton.
they kept them awake so
that they could help him.
Ponton could not
heal him, his wounds were to deep.
He asked Linwonk
to remove their powers and set them on a search for one thousand
years to make sure a worthy blood line is found.
Linwonk and Ponton agreed and Linwok
then made a large sphere and touched it to each of their foreheads.
She released it in to the sky to search for the worthy
blood lines.
After Tukon passed the
enchantress and the healer finished the preparations for the new
mako.
No more records were found
on Linwonk and Ponton after that.
People have tried to find
information on them but found nothing on the subjects.
Wow. Said Thomas, once
Rachel had finished reading. The story almost seemed true.
I hope Jayson heard it and
enjoyed it. She replied. They stayed and talked to him and each other
fighting back tears until their visiting time was up.
They didn’t stay long at the hospital after their
visit because more and more of Jayson's relatives arrived.
Rachel and Thomas decided
that they would visit him more tomorrow.
Later
on that day they decided to go research books on anything that might
help Jayson at the library. They searched all through the medical
books, D.V.D's ,C.D.'s and anything else they could find and brought
them back to Rachel's house.
They spread everything out on the dinning room table
down stairs and looked over everything.
The two friends looked for
hours and hours but came across nothing that would work with what
ever Jayson had. Still no one had any idea on what he had.
There's nothing here! Shouted Thomas.
Calm down. Said Rachel. We'll figure this out. There are
tons of doctors and specialists working on it as we speak.
You know Rachel we've been friends for years all of us,
even when you had no other friends, and I thought you would at least
are enough to try and figure out what's wrong with Jayson. But I
guess I was wrong. It seems like you don't care about him at all. He
replied. Me and you were never very popular like he was and is but he
hung out with us anyways. He stuck up for us and you don't even care.
She was stunned at Thomas's words.
How dare you even think that I
don't care. Said Rachel. If anyone cares it's me! I think you need to
leave Thomas.
Her eyes filled with tears as she
said this.
Thomas was
shocked that he had said that to her but didn't take it back. He just
walked out the front door and left for his house to think.
Rachel continued
searching through the books and listening and watching the tapes
until midnight came.
She woke up early and
barley ate breakfast and went to school on the bus.
She sat as far as she
could from Thomas instead she sat next to her other friend Molly.
She had asked her to come
with her to visit Jayson.
Molly had said yes
because she hadn't seen Jayson since he was at school the day he
collapsed.
So how is he doing? She asked.
You'll just have to see him. Replied
Rachel. But he's not like what you remember. He's lost most of his
color and warmth and his heart beat is fading and the doctors have no
idea what's wrong with him. Molly didn't ask
about him any more the rest of the way to school.
School was even worse this
time. Thomas didn't really have anyone else he wanted to be around[he
had other friends but he wasn't in the mood to talk].
During lunch, Rachel sat with Molly and her friends. Rachel
had never met them before and she kept to her self, Sometimes she
would answer a random question about Jayson or herself but that was
it.
The eight hours of school
felt like a life time and with no one really to talk to. Rachel left
with Molly to the hospital to visit her sick friend.
